Kankaita ja massailuja / Fabrics and polymer clay thingies

Unohdin kertoa, että ennen matkallelähtöä viimeksi, ehti juuri edellisenä päivänä tulla Super Bowl-alella ostamani kankaat Quilters Quarterista. Huippukauppa, sama josta aikaisemminkin tilailin kangasta... Nyt kesti pitempään tulla, kun siellä oli tosiaan toi ale... Yhtä kangasta en saanut, se ehti loppua. Pyysin, että pistävät sitten joka tapauksessa sen 8-9 jaardia täyteen, noita muita kankaita mitä tilasin.

I forgot to mention, that day before I left to "holiday", I received the fabrics I orderd from Quilters Quarter, when they had Super Bowl-sale. Great place to buy fabrics to Finland, I've ordered before from there. This time it took bit longer to arrive, because they had the sale. One fabric I didn't receive, since it was sold out. I did mention, that if some fabric has run out, they can add any of the fabrics that I ordered to fill the 8-9 yards that fits to flat rate envelope.

Näpertelin jotain noista puolivalmiista jutuista, joita kurssilla aloittelin. Kurssitila oli vähän kostea, sen lisäksi massat oli autossa 3 päivää keräämässä lisää kosteutta. Lisäksi vielä lämpötila (mittarista huolimatta) hujahti yhdessä vaiheessa melkein 140 asteeseen. Näistä tuloksena läpikuultava jellyroll, joka muokkaantui kukaksi, muuttui harmaa-fuksiaksi. Nää on näitä oppia ikä kaikki-juttuja... Tykästyin spiraalitekniikkaankin. Viimeisessä kuvassa käytetty lyöntimetallilla kuvioitua massaa. Tuossa on siis kerättynä 3-4 eriväristä premoa, lätkitty kasaan ja vedetty pastakoneen läpi. Päälle lyöntimetallilevy, sitten ohuenohut läpikuultava massalevy päälle. Näistä tuli sellaisia kuin halusinkin, pyöreissä näkyy saumat, aivan kuin se olisi paikattu.

I managed to do something with the millefiories etc. that I started in the class. The classroom was bit moist, and the clay stayed in the car for 3 days.. And temperature went almost to 140 C, despite the thermometer I just bought.. Due to that reason, the jellyroll that I made, transformed into gray-fuchsia flowerbeads.. In last picture, there's the "fakegold" leafs, base was 3-4 different colors run thru pastamachine. And a thin layer of transparent premo. These beads turned out just the way I wanted them to be. The seams show, it looks like a patched leather.
